ABOUT BLOW UP

Blow Up is a club event, a record label, a music publisher and a live music promoter. Established and founded in 1993 by Paul Tunkin as a club event with live guests. Blow Up was soon to be found at the front and centre of the Britpop explosion. A record label and a music publishing company soon followed. In 2024, with Blow Up now in its 31st year, it continues working within the following distinctive areas of music entertainment :

Blow Up Club (Club and live music events), Blow Up Records (a record label), Blow Up Songs (a music publisher). This website brings the four activities together in one space to simplify navigation to these individual websites.

Between 2001 – 2009 Blow Up promoted and ran London’s Metro Club a live music venue and nightclub. It was closed in January 2009 due to the Crossrail project acquiring the surrounding premises around Tottenham Court Road station.

On 14th April 2022 Blow Up launched a new website Blow Up Images, a visual archive for Blow Up.

Blow Up started celebrations for its 30th anniversary with a sold out event in Kings Cross in November 2023, followed by a second event Friday 24th May at the Century club London. On Friday 11th October 2024 Blow Up returned to Southend for a sold out event at Twenty-One and held a 31st birthday once again at the Century. A second date was added to to Southend for January 2025 at the Fickle Pickle whilst there were also events in Colchester and London, Blow Up will return to these cities and to Brighton for further dates in 2025.
