New Silvery EP 'The Nishikado' - Artocker.tv and iTunes exclusive!
Following their Christmas single You Give A Little Love last December, London eccentrics Silvery release their 5th single on Monday 15th June 2009, previously featured on a live BBC Radio 1 Lamacq session and a standout track from their much talked about debut album Thunderer & Excelsior (which made the ARTROCKER and ORGAN top releases of 2008 lists).
The Nishikado EP features a new mix of the lead song (inspired by Toshihiro Nishikado – the creator of Space Invaders in the 1970’s) and 3 brand new tracks: Identity, Murder Holes and The Public Purse.
Think Sparks at their most Glam Rock, mixed up with all sorts of musical tricks Blur and Bowie would be proud of.

EP. will be available 3 weeks early as an iTunes exclusive on Monday 25th May 2009 (general availability from 15/6/2009)

'HORRORS'/'ORDERS' - The debut single from Silvery out now
Download & ltd. seven available now – the double-A debut from London four-piece Silvery.
‘Horrors’/’Orders’ was the recent winner of Zane Lowe’s Fresh Meat and was The Organ’s single of the week:
“They’ve been one of London’s best kept secrets for a little while now, packed out gigs in Camden and such, building a genuine following and a really worth of mouth flow. Silvery make timeless English pop music, a slighty quirky edge, nothing that ever stops that pop flow though. They have a slightly eccentric charm, a bright palette, those not quite pristine bandsman uniforms and those chiming keyboards. The debut album is not far away now, this should more than wet your appetite.” The Organ
“What a little belter this is. Pure, head-on pop music, fabby guitar riffs, plumptious organ, verses, choruses, middle 8 – all present and correct. The AA side ‘Orders’ reminds me of early sparks, never a bad look. Intelligent stuff, quoting the right sources but never simply copying. This could be a very good year for Silvery. They should be filling the Radio 1 playlist in place of the ghastly Feeling. Buy this record.” Artrocker

London’s Silvery release their debut album ‘Thunderer & Excelsior‘ – a 14-track blast of infectious eccentric British pop and an essential release for 2008. Crafted in their East London studio with Kevin Feazey and mastered by John Davis, the album features previous sold-out single ‘Horrors‘/’Orders‘ and their second single ‘Devil In The Detail‘ which will be released the same day and is strictly limited to 500 numbered 7″s. The single also features an exclusive B-side ‘The Squadron Leader’ not on the album.
‘Devil In The Detail‘ has been spun so far by Steve Lamacq (6 Music and Radio1), who has invited the band to record a session for his BBC Radio 1 show, to be broadcast a week before the album & single release, Marc Riley (6 Music) who has requested a session, Gary Crowley (BBC London), as well as Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie (Radio 2). Both sides have already been aired in the US too by KROQ legend Rodney Bingenheimer.

'ACTION FORCE'/'THE NOD' out now - The 3rd single from Silvery
download both…
After weeks of plays on BBC Radio (Lamacq, Riley, Lamarr, Crowley, Radcliffe & Maconie amongst others) and both BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music live sessions, Silvery release their third single ‘Action Force‘, taken from their acclaimed debut album ‘Thunderer & Excelsior‘.
The double A-side is ‘The Nod‘, a new non-album exclusive recording of a live favourite. Its the perfect showcase for their unique and riotous Victoriana inspired sound and a worldview that suggests a heady concoction of British Sea Power through a filter of Sparks, Bowie, XTC and Blur at their punky fairground best.

“Action Force is my favourite rapid-fire, jerky pop song of the year”
Steve Lamacq (BBC Blog)
“More of their Victorian gentleman’s club brit pop, Action Force is a catchy slice off the London band’s well received recent album. The Nod is a previously unreleased goodness and one of their best tracks – if ever there was a model of a modern major general and all the Sparks that fly and the bits of early Blur and XTC and Jules Verne adventurer”
The Organ
“Tumble-dried Blur melting Sparks into liquid pop”

Give A Little Love by SILVERY - download now for Christmas!
Ladies and gentlemen we present you the perfect antidote to all the current doom and gloom… We give you…
Silvery performing a brand new recording of You Give A Little Love, a cover version of the Paul Williams song as featured in the musical Bugsy Malone. The song has often featured in the Silvery live set and the band thought it was high time to put a studio version down.
This track is not included on their fabulous debut album Thunderer & Excelsior, but will be downloadable from Monday 15th December from all reputable purveyors of digital phonograms and just in time for Christmas! ….Its time to party like its 1929!!!
“How do you feel about Bugsy Malone? Me, I love it! And my favourite song from the movie? This one. Silvery deliver it straight up, no f**king about, building to climax with massed choir just like the original. Made my day.
Buy this, be young at heart, happy Christmas one and all.” Artrocker
“Never before has a song from Bugsy Malone sounded so… er, cool?!”
